English Literacy Tutor Training
Become a tutor and help adult immigrants learn English at Aquinas Literacy Center's English Literacy Tutor Training, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2023, conducted at the center at 1751 W. 35th St., Chicago.
Once trained, each tutor will work with a student for 90 minutes per week. Tutoring takes place on a limited basis in person at the center and/or online. Knowledge of another language is not required of tutors — instruction takes place in English — however tutors must be native or near-native English speakers. After tutors complete training, each will receive a certificate from and six-month membership to ProLiteracy.
