Memorial Day Parade
Join community members and neighbors to remember those who died in the service of the United States at McKinley Park's Memorial Day Parade, 10 a.m. on Monday, May 29, 2023, starting from the McKinley Park branch of the Chicago Public Library, 1915 W. 35th St., Chicago.
Presented by the McKinley Park Civic Association (MPCA) and William McKinley American Legion Post 231, the parade steps off at the library at 10 a.m. and winds through the neighborhood, ending at the William McKinley American Legion Post at 1956 W. 35th Street, Chicago.
Lineup for the parade is at 9:30 a.m. at the library. The parade concludes at the American Legion post for a ceremony and refreshments.
The parade route proceeds:
- east on West 35th Street to South Paulina Street,
- south on South Paulina Street to West 37th Street,
- west on West 37th Street to South Damen Avenue,
- north on South Damen Avenue to West 35th Street,
- east on West 35th Street to the American Legion post, 1956 W. 35th St., Chicago.
Applications to participate are accepted through Wednesday, May 25, 2022, by filling out the application form and returning it to Christopher Bania, 3700 S. Wolcott Ave., Chicago, IL 60609-2040.
